Gifted and Talented Grades 2 to 6
York school is a Division site for Gifted and Talented (G & T) programming which supports students who have advanced intellectual ability compared to other students their age. These students have exceptional potential or ability across a wide range of areas, from creative thinking to understanding abstract relationships.

ELIGIBILITY
Students must be enrolled in elementary or junior high and meet Gifted and Talented eligibility requirements. Priority will be given to resident students of Edmonton Public Schools.

Interactions K to 6
York school is opening an Interactions classroom for 2025-2026. Our Division site will be for grades 1 to 6 and it will be our first dedicated class. Interactions programming supports students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). ASD impacts how people understand what they see, hear and sense. This lifelong diagnosis can result in sensory processing issues and difficulty with communication and social interaction. Interactions programming targets a child's individual needs and abilities with an emphasis in these areas.

ELIGIBILITY
Students at York must be in grades 1-6, clinically diagnosed with ASD and demonstrating stereotyped behaviours, and have severe impairment in social interactions and communication. Contact the school office for information about eligibility and special education programming options.
